The 12.8 is generally the better option, as it trades relatively little in exchange for its boons, while the 15cm trades a lot for only a few boons. The 12.8cm has significantly higher shell velocity, penetration and dpm, while the 15cm gains improved damage and shell caliber, useful for overmatching targets. There are two main cannons: 12.8cm Kanone L/61, essentially the Jagdtiger's top gun, or the 15cm Pak 40, which is basically the E 100's 15cm. IV in reverse to allow for minimal exposure and full use of its 5 degrees of workable gun depression. Many players will drive the Waffentrager auf Pz. This fact means that both tank destroyers severely lack gun depression. IV can be good training for the tier 10 Grille 15, as this tank has a similar rear-mounted turret (albeit the Grille 15 can only turn the turret 45 degrees to each side). Different crew layout compared to the Rhm.-Borsig Waffenträger, has a radioman and one more.Extremely weak engine module, often disable from frontal penetrations. The 15cm guns lack accuracy and shell velocity, and are unsuited for sniping.Very poor gun depression on the frontal arc, and very poor gun elevation when the gun faces backwards.Open-topped and no armor, very vulnerable to HE penetrations.Painless stock grind, only requires the tracks and top 12,8cm gun.Very good alpha damage, DPM, penetration, aim time and accuracy with the top 12,8cm gun.
